More About This Experience
What comes to your mind when you hear the words street art? Urban life, compact city scapes, rustic neighborhoods, narrow alleyways and so on. Now picture this - street art that is juxtaposed with rice fields, local village neighborhoods, farmers tending to cattle on their fields where cows may roam freely. Strange? We think not - we think this is part of the identity of Yogyakarta, its characteristic creativity and artistic expressions unlike anything one might be familiar with.
Not far from the city's largest arts university, Institut Seni Indonesia lies the venue of the tour led by long time resident artist Andreas. Working closely with the locals in the community, he has managed to transform the once monotone from the grey concrete walls of houses to colorful murals in places where you least expect it - it is truly an exclusive coming together of community, artists and social expression!
Join us in this unique tour and experience street art...with a twist!
