More About This Experience

The street food scene in Yogyakarta is vibrant but often left unexplored. Travelers prefer going to that cafe, bakery or bar but miss out on what is truly special about Yogyakarta's food scene. The angrinkans (roadside stalls set), warungs (local restaurants) and Lesehans (street stalls where one would generally sit cross legged on the floor) are the places to be for a taste of a truly local culinary experience. However, it can also be daunting where concerns outweigh curiosity. Safety, hygiene and a communication barriers are all factors that often restrict one from being able to truly indulge despite the willingness to. These worries can now be washed down as you make room for a new adventure. The backstreet walking food tour provides a comprehensive look into the street food scene in Yogyakarta. Its such a huge part of people's lives here that you must experience it. Additionally, the tour also happens to pass by historical attractions and your host will be more than happy to delight you with snippets of history as you chomp your way down the streets. So come join us as you eat your way through Jogja's famous Malioboro and Kraton area and uncover the wonder of street food in Yogyakarta Note: If you have any dietary preferences/restrictions, please let us know in the message section while making the booking. **Price includes cost for all food items that are part of the tour

I got to try new dishes that I never would’ve thought to order. The variety of restaurants to stalls, sitting and eating to walking and snacking was spot on.
