Khmer bamboo flutes have been present in Khmer history since the beginning of the Angkor empire. Played in the high courts and also among the villagers, it was truly an instrument that everyone could connect with. Traditional bands, religious ceremonies and apsara performances simply could not do without its accompaniment.
Now, you can not only try playing it, but also make your own bamboo flute using traditional methods perfected over centuries! Carefully cut and polish your piece of bamboo and drill precise holes to engineer the most wonderful sounds from this instrument that you can truly call yours.
