Bokator, considered one of the oldest existing fighting forms in Cambodia, and one that is believed to be the predecessor of all south east asian fighting forms, is revered for its "weapons techniques'. A deadly fighting tool, it is believed that Bokator was a soldier's art of the angkorian armies, crafted to be used in the battlefield. You might be lucky to stumble upon Bokator depictions on the walls of the Angkor Wat temples. The term Bokator translates to "pounding a lion' where you extensively "pound' the opponent with your elbows, knees, shins, feet, hands and head. You start the session learning two fundamental steps that define the underlying base movement of almost all Bokator techniques. Following which you will use these base movements to learn a variety of attack maneuvers using your knee, elbow, hands and shin. You then proceed to learn defense positions where you learn how to swiftly defend yourself from common hand and leg attacks. Note: Our host is English speaking hence, a facilitator/guide will not be accompany guests for the duration of the activity. A facilitator will however, be present to pick up guests from the designated pick up location. Note: Grand master Kim Sean on certain occasions might be held up with training government security personnel. During such a time, we will arrange the workshop to be held with one of his son/students.
