More About This Experience
We've all dabbled with water colours at some stage in our life, most likely during our primary school days. While most for most of us have left our water colours in the classrooms, there are a select passionate few who make a living from it.
While not a traditionally Nepali art form, it is a medium of expression for several Nepali artists. Walk along the tourist districts of Pokhara and Kathmandu and you'll see the streets lined up with the works of several artists displaying anything from the majestic Himalayas to portraits of ordinary Nepalis. Many artists prefer water colours as their medium of expression in Nepal because oil painting on canvas is expensive.
Depending on what you decide to paint, this course will last you approximately two hours. Within these two hours Dhaka will have you first practicing on a rough sheet of paper before you go on to the actual painting. Not to worry, we'll have all the tools and paints prepared beforehand, so all you have to do is show up for the course and prepare for a trip down memory lane - maybe you'll have flashes of painting your friends faces while you were little :)
We definitely had fun doing this course and we're sure you will too!
