More About This Experience
In This trip, you will get to see and understand more why and how this area is a unique place during the secret war in Laos.
After pick up from your hotel, we will head to visit the Plain of Jars where thousands of giant stone jars of unknown ancient origin are scattered over the area of Phonesavanh, which is also know as the plain of jars. Interestingly, the fascinating part about the plain of jars themselves is the mystery of which nobody knows why they are there.
After visiting this distinctive plain of jars site 1. We will go up the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which is a special trip where you get to see war relics left behind by the secret way during the Vietnam war era where American operatives worked heavily in this area to enlist support against the Vietnamese.
On the way, we will get to see the Hmong's war scrap village. This area was inundated by tons of bombs during the Indochina wars, and a lot of scrap metal remains from the wars. Today, the local villages use them to make fences, build chicken's huts and many other creative usages.
Thereafter visiting the Hmong scrap village, we will take a closer look into the war memorial cave which was a secret place and people hid on this cave during the wars.
Once we see the visit the cave, we head to a Hot Springs which is about 50km out of Phonesavanh where you can take a bath with the hot spring.
Following by visiting the UXO Survivor Information Centre: This NGO is doing an amazing work helping the victims rebuild their lives after an accidents from a bomb injury by training wives of victims to weave so they can get more income to help the family.
Finally, we visit MAG(Mines Advisory Group) center where they focus on finding and making safe unexplored bombs, sot the people can safely work on their fields.
