The lifeblood of many in Cambodia, the all important coconut is an integral part of people's lives here, responsible for many items such as keychains, desserts, cakes, and cutlery, among many others. A lesser known use is for a very special kind of dance - The coconut dance! An exclusive dance used only to delight the royalty during the Angkor empire, even few locals know about it. It is however sophisticated and it displays the well-being, friendship, and prosperity of the Cambodian people. And This dance was born in Romeas Hek district, Svay Rieng province. They perform it during wedding ceremonies or during the Khmer New Year.
