More About This Experience
The Hmong are one of many ethnic minority groups in Laos.
In Hmong culture we believe in many kinds of spirits.
This ceremony is a blessing and welcoming ceremony. We conduct this ceremony to ensure good health and safe travels.
The activity will include a blessing from a Hmong Shaman, Hmong dancing and a traditional lunch. You will learn about Hmong culture and will get the opportunity to meet with a genuine shaman - a very important person in Hmong culture. We will also play the Hmong traditional instruments - the Khaen and Raj Lev Les. The Shaman will teach you how to play our traditional instruments.
The ceremony will take place in Luang Prabang, about fifteen minutes from the city centre. The ceremony will take place on a local farm about 25 minutes walk along a small stream.
