Visiting Laos, you can hear many styles of music but there are just a few certain types of dance, in which Laos traditional dance plays an important role in Laos ethnic groups.
Laotian people perform the dance with graceful movements by moving their arms, legs and bend their fingers beautifully. The traditional dance is normally enjoyed in festivals or all special celebrations. There are many dancing styles belonging to different ethnic groups around Laos but the most popular one is "SabaideeLuangPrabang', which is also known as "Hello LuangPrabang'. It is often performed in a traditional celebration called "DaungChampa'.
In this course, beside introducing you background of Laos music and dance, as well as the most popular dancing styles in Laos, our host will also teach you 'Lam Vong', which is known as 'Circled Dance' - one of the most popular styles. Lam Vong is practiced throughout Laos in both city and countryside. It is usually performed during Lao New Year and in some other local festivals and parties. You will learn how to beautifully bend your fingers and arms combining with body the movement to create the nicest movements along with melodious Laos music. You can use this dancing style if you are in LuangPrabang being invited to dance on stage with your friends.
