This trip will take you to visit the UNESCO Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of Buddha figurines reside. There are 2 great caves where you can be awed by the sight of so many Buddha figurines just staring back at you in all their grandeur. This is set in the limestone peaks that you see in the travel magazines advertising Laos! There will be lots of photo opportunities. The Tuktuk driver will pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang go to along the Mekong River through dirt and paved roads through local villages. The first stop is at Ban Xanghai which is known as Lao whisky village. In this village, you will get to see the Lao-Lao (Lao stick rice whisky) producing village if you are there at the right time! There are 3 main types of Lao-Lao, the clear distilled one, the milky white one and the one made with black rice. You can also try each of them before deciding to buy. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can try what the Lao people consider elixirs! These are bottles of clear Lao-Lao mixed with scorpions, frogs, snakes or even geckos. After the visit of Ban Xanghai, we will continue to Pak Ou village which will take another 15 minutes to reach there. Pak Ou village is located in front of Pak Ou cave where Mekong and Ou rivers The driver will drop you at Pak Ou village and he will wait for you there. Now it's your free to cross the river to Pak Ou cave. To cap off your day, the driver will stop at a Sa paper village, where people make Sa paper with variety of products that you can buy for a souvenir back home! Tour itineraries: - 9am: Pick up from your hotel - 9:45am: Visit Lao whiskey village - 10:30am: Reach Pak Ou village - 12:20pm: Back to your Tuktuk and head back to Luang Prabang - 1:20pm: Stop at Ban Xieng Lek for a shopping of Sa paper products - 1:50pm: Drop back to your hotel Please note that this tour is included transport only and it's a join-in tour.
