The Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre is where the fascinating world of Lao textiles comes alive! Set in the grounds of a stunning tropical garden on the Mekong, it's the perfect place to learn more about this unique Lao art. We offer free guided tours where you can meet our weavers, artisans and even the silkworms. We also offer a range of classes in weaving and dyeing, which as our reviews show, are an unforgettable experience. This half day class is an introduction to silkworms, natural dyes, and silk varieties. Students have a hands on experience with natural dye preparation and create 3 natural dyes using plants from our garden. At the end of class you will take home 2 dyed silk skeins and 1 cotton scarf you dyed yourself!
