More About This Experience
So you're the type who needs a good breakfast to get the day started eh? Well, you've come to the right place. As this boisterous city awakes at the break of dawn, we will skillfully navigate through narrow alleyways, temples and crowded bazaars to find you that perfect cup of chia (nepali tea) and Nepali breakfast wonders!
Before the crazy Kathmandu honky-traffic kicks up dust clouds, before the resident cows begin their tour of the city and before roadside touts begin their day, we'll start the tour at 7am through the meandering alleys of Thamel and wind up in the ancient Durbar Square of Basantapur. Along the way we will also visit ancient temples and shrines where you can partake in some of the morning rituals of the locals like feeding pigeons, lighting butter lamps and even make offerings to the gods. If you're wondering whether momos and dal bhat are part of this tour, we'll have to disappoint you as Kathmanduites have a something else in store for you. Here are some of the food items you will sample on this tour:
1. Sel Roti (Nepali doughnut)
2. Malpuwa
3. Aloo Puri set
4. Gwara Mari
5. Haluwa
6. As many cups of chia as you can drink ;)
Bet you've never heard of these dishes before, and for good reason, as these dishes are rarely sold outside morning hours and even if you do find them it's probably not as fresh.
