More About This Experience
Rarely does one get an inside access to a religion that has spanned over two millennia in Nepal, and get to witness first hand how Buddhism is practised by the monks who have dedicated their lives to the faith. In this tour of the Swoyambhu (aka Monkey Temple) and it's surrounding monasteries, we will have a resident monk (Dhendup Lama) show you around and give you a brief but insightful elaboration of the religion and its significance in contemporary society.
Lama Dhendup has over two decades studying and practising Buddhism, making him an apt person to take you on this guided tour of the Swoyambhu wherein he will also talk about Buddhist philosophy from the Buddhist scriptures called Dharmadhatu (translates to Absolute Reality in Sanskrit) while giving you his take on the history of this iconic monument of Kathmandu Valley.
Note: If you have any special requests for this tour then do let us know and we will try our level best to make it possible :)
