More About This Experience
Culinary maestro and travel show superstar Anthony Bourdain proclaimed on his show, No Reservations, that the Lechon of Cebu was the best in the world. We concur! And being the food-snobs that we are, we were not content with the average Lechon found inside the city of Cebu and so we started our quest beyond the city and into the countryside. It took us a while but we struck gold on the outskirts of Talisay City (approx. 1.5 hrs away from Cebu City) at the farmhouse of Carlo and Family. The family prepares the Lechon in the traditional Filipino way and have been doing so for several generations now and the recipe has remained unchanged. The taste? Nothing short of A-HA-Mazing!
We've designed this Lechon feast for an offbeat way of spending your vacation time in Cebu. The Lechon will be prepared over an open flame and take about 4 hours to fully cook, so while Carlo meticulously prepares the Lechon, you can sit back, relax and sip on a cold drink while soaking in the Cebuano countryside with your friends and family. If you're looking for other tips while you're in Cebu then feel free to interact with Carlo and family to hear their thoughts. Normally in a Filipino setting, once the Lechon is ready, all manners generally go out the window and everyone just dives right in and if you're thinking "nahh, I can restrain myself', we dare you! :p
INCLUDES: Lechon, Rice, Water and Pig Blood Stew
EXCLUDES: Other food and drinks (if you'd like us to make the arrangements then please select add-ons below)
Note: this is Carlo's family home so the family will most likely be present in the premises throughout.
