It was 1995 when I arrived for the first time in Thailand and I was impressed by the vibrant Thai capital. In late 1996, I made the decision to try my luck and moved from The Hague (The Netherlands) to Bangkok to f...More about the host
Neither myself nor my partner have the greatest level of fitness but we were able to do this tour easily enough. There were a variety of sights we were taken to, including a nearby slum section of town and a visit to the kindergarten that services that community. We felt very safe there, our guide is well known there and they are used to people coming in from the outside. Next we went to a local pier for a trip across the water to the green section of the city - and it was really beautiful. The cycling here is a lot easier - mind you we were there on a Saturday afternoon so not exactly a busy time Nevertheless we fed the fish in the lake and toured around some narrow concrete streets to a neighbouring temple. Everything had a calm and serene feel. After the temple we were treated to some local food before venturing back across the river and a quick visit to a kickboxing training centre before home. Our guide to some video on the way through and this was provided to us by email within 24 hours. And we really like it. Loved the tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a morning or afternoon seeing some cool places in the city.
Our family (2 adults & 4 daughters 11 -16) did the colours of Bangkok tour with Jay. He was great fun & had good energy. We rode through really small alley ways, big roads & through the lush forest on elevated pathways. All of us said this was one of the highlights of our time in BKK. The best things on the trip were: Singing & dancing with the kindergarten kids (really cool). Exploring the slum alley ways. Feeding the thousands of fish in the lake The MuayThai lessons near the end. The tour went until 2 pm but Jay didn't seem to mind. the boat rides were fun also. Highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Jay as a guide.
We arrived in Bangkok and wanted to see something different than the usual tourist spots. A bike ride was the order of the day through some different areas including slum, rich and the green lung areas that we didn't even know existed. Our guide Ket was fantastic and full of lots of local information and very mindful of our safety at all times. We would certainly recommend this bike ride to anyone that would like to see something a little different - a very enjoyable half day.
This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Bangkok - the wonderful bike ride through Bangkok's green lung & other spots off the beaten tracks can be highly recommended! It was hot, but when you drive the breeze helps + water is supplied throughout the trip & breaks are frequent. Our guide was very lovely too, a bit more infos about the areas would have been interesting but all in all it was a truly perfect experience!
