More About This Experience

Copper wires are the de facto material in electricity wirings all over the world. However, when these systems become old and fall to waste, copper wires also follow suit. Muy Seu Bel however got this idea when a Filipino volunteer visited and he learnt various techniques to convert copper wires into Jewelry. With innate talent in Jewelry making, Muy learnt very fast and now has his own workshop to create Jewelry and sell his products all over Siem Reap. In this course you will learn how to create the beautiful designs shown in the gallery on your own and bring it home with you!

Tyre bag workshop - great fun and a sense of accomplishment This was one of our best experiences in Siem Reap - making a bag out of rubber tyre under the expert tutelage of Chanra! She had lots of beautifully made samples but you can also come up with your own design - I made a lunch clutch with a wrist strap and my friend made a small cross body bag. It was our first time using a sewing machine but Chanra made it easy and helped us with the more difficult parts. She's really creative and a patient teacher. We decided to do this pretty last minute (just the evening before and the online registration had already closed), so thanks to Yukheng froom Backstreet Academy for facilitating this!

This course was the highlight of my time in Siem reap. Bel and his wife are just amazing people (and so sweet and friendly) - spending time with them was such a pleasure! They were so patient as they taught us how to make their beautiful bracelet designs. Also, they do incredible work to support landmine victims and others with disabilities in the community, so your money is going to a wonderful cause!

Really great thing to do! Our teacher was lovely and the bracelets and matching rings my sister and myself made were beautiful. Well worth it and would definitely recommend! A wonderful afternoon with this gorgeous lady making copper wire brackets and rings. Laughter, lots of smiling, creativity and an experience of Khmer loving kindness.
