More About This Experience

Doodles were what accompanied most of us through our monotonous school years, now try to take them up a level with a professional artist! You can try out sketches of local luang prabang like the various wats or even the beautiful colonia buildings. Or you could pluck something out of your imagination and let our instructor help you visualize your fantasy with the humble pencil! The pencil is the most versatile instrument throughout the ages and is also the base for many other art forms such as painting. The depths and forms created by gradient, shading, strokes are so seemingly simple, yet infinitely complex. Come try the course out in a local artists' studio and you may find yourself bringing a sketchbook on your travels in the future! Note: Bring your own drinking water

Additional Information:

  • Pick up will be via a tuktuk
  • Journey time from Luang Prabang hotels is around 10-15mins
  • There might be other people on the same experience
  • Bring your own water
  • You can choose any one of the pictures offered by the artist or bring your own

We really enjoyed our experience with the help of the teacher ,who substituted for Mr Song, and interpreter. We were picked up exactly on time from our hotel and assisted in buying Sadak paper which was hand delivered.

Authentic and quite unique experience. We were picked up by a local guide and translator and taken to the local art school. It was a relaxed but informative class where we each got to work on a drawing we wanted to do. I'd advise having something in mind, or take a camera/phone with some pictures - we used a Naga statue and a picture of the main local temple as our inspiration. It's relaxed and good fun, and a very different way to spend a day. The host and translator were both very friendly and clearly enjoyed what they did. Thank you to everyone involved, this is one of the most enjoyable and memorable things we did in Laos.

Had a great time with Song who patiently taught me how to sketch my chosen landscape of Luang Prabang in pencil. Never really gifted for the arts but this is something i can be proud of to bring home! Impressive skill and a very fuss-free experience from booking, being picked up, learning and dropped off. Wonderful. Highly recommended.

Fun experience at Song's little workshop making drawings! Is not your usual type of tour activity, but something very much more real and close up with the locals. Wont have had a chance if never discover this site on tripadvisor!
