More About This Experience
Ever wondered how these amazing glass sculptures came about? Then this is the experience for you! Learn from one of the master artisans in Chiang Mai who have spent decades on his craft learning to create everything with glass, from decorative art pieces to glass smoking pipes.
You will be visiting the actual studio of the Glass blowing artisan and learning how to create a glass pig for the half day course. You will also learn how to manipulate the fire to get a grasp of heating the glass, joining different pieces of glass together, as well as creating perfect balls of glass from the raw materials which are sticks of glass.
Bring home a glass pig completely made by yourself, and if you're interested, you can sign up for more classes where we can teach you more advanced techniques and you can create more items such as elephants and turtles, among many others.

This is what Backstreet Academy is about. Our second visit to Noy Not, we were excited to learn more about the art of glasswork. Instead of the little glass pig, this time we made an elephant and wow, it puts the skills Noy Noy has into perspective. We were guided along the way with understanding and kindness, with a lot of mistakes made, and recovered from. It was a fantastic experience and we're sure to be back again.

We had a truly wonderful experience! We received a very warm welcome when we arrived. It was greatly appreciated that we had a translator and we had fun practicing the Thai language we have learned. Everything was explained to us very clearly and once we felt comfortable we started making our pieces. (Just a heads up if you have prescription contacts wear them to class because you will need to wear the provided eyewear.)
Creating our glass piece was so much fun once we got comfortable with the required hand motion. Our pieces are so cute! We will definitely take this class again and recommend friends to try it as well.

It was an amazing experience and thoroughly enjoyed the whole process in the making of my pig. An opportunity in a lifetime to work with a master glass blower one on one. Everything about the day was beyond expectation. Highly recommend.
